Google Plus New Trending Social Networking

Google Plus (Google +) is a new social network launched by one of the internet giant, Google. As soon as the news of Google Plus project spreads, Google Plus become new trending topic in most of blogs around the world. Android 3.0 Honeycomb, Android OS for Tablet PC

Android 3.0 Honeycomb is the latest Android operating system. This OS is specially built for Tablet PC. Android 3.0 Honeycomb provide better performance compared than previous-generation Android operating system. Acer Iconia A500 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 are a couple example of Tablet PC that use Android 3.0 Honeycomb as their OS. What's new to this OS, read through my review for this OS.

Various new interesting features added in Android 3.0 Honeycomb is that Android Honeycomb can support multi-core processors, high-quality 2D and 3D graphics, making marvelous speed when users operate the tablet device. The panel on the main page of Honeycomb stretch to a larger bar and provide a global status info that is placed below the screen. While on the upper right side panels give the user convenience in managing applications that currently active.

Browser will have several tabs that allow users to open multiple sites at once, and the navigation screen becomes more convenient, even sync with the bookmarks can be done easily. Synchronization can be easily taken from the Chrome browser, Multi-touch features also supported by JavaScript and other plugins, and of course the user must have a Google account.

For users who likes reading e-books or e-reader, Honeycomb present the appearance that allows you to read it as easy as reading a book in general, supported by Google eBooks feature. There's also design changes when you access the YouTube site that allows users to choose more video options on the tablet screen. In the security sector, Honeycomb provide ease for a company when storing data with encryption features for both the password and email. Chat with Google Talk integration becomes easier, even able to chat via video, which of course you must have a dual camera tablet device. Google Maps will change shape with the presence of a 3D Google Maps that makes localization becomes more real than ever.

There are six character attributes that you can increase as you level up. They are

1. Strength (Str), which affects maximim Vitality and Ext Atk
2. Stamina (Stam) affects External Defense, Vitality, Blind Resistance, and Stun Resistance.
3. Spirit (Spr) affects maximum Chi, Internal Atk
4. Stability (Stab) affects Vitality, Internal Defense, Chi, Paralyze Resistance and Amnesia Resistance.
5. Precision (Prec) affects Accuracy, Enchanting Time, and Critical strike.
6. Agility (Agi) which affects Dodge, Slow Resistance, Attack Speed and Depression Resistance.
   

Which attributes is important ? Well, this differ for each clan, but External type clan usually pump on Stamina while Internal type clan pump on Stability. Precision is a very very important attributes for every clan and Agility is a very important attribute for Tien-Shan. I will give you more detail on Character build in my next post.

Other feature in Kungfu Online Game is similar to other MMORPG game. There are guild that you can join, warehouse to put items, gathering system, PVP, guild war, etc. I won't put it here as you can see it yourself in their official website.

Beside leveling up and leveling up and leveling up (which is boring after you reach high level), there are one more goal that you can reach in this game, It's to become the Mt. Hua Champions. Mt. Hua Swordsmanship Tournament is a cross server fight that allows you to fight other player in all server. The winner of this Mt. Hua Tournament will receive title, marvelous item, and of course some pride. I will cover the guide how to win Mt.Hua Tournament in my later post.

My Favorite Food Blog

Well, this might be a little out of topic, but I really want to review one of my favorite food blog. Everytime I visit Blog Kuliner, makes me really hungry because the food picture there looks so yummy.

One article that catch my eyes there is Kisah Legenda Kuliner Nusantara. It's about a festival happens in Indonesia, It's an annual culinary festival, held in several big cities. The food stand in that festival come from many legendary dining place in Indonesia. So if you want to taste yummy traditional Indonesian food, you can just visit the festival. This year, the festival will we hold in 5 city : Bekasi, Kediri, Depok, Sidoarjo, and Malang.

Nintendo Wii U - Next-Gen Console

This June 2011, Nintendo Wii officially introduced the Nintendo Wii U as their console. This console allows gamers to play their favorite game titles with a whole new way thanks to its innovative controller. As a sophisticated gaming device, Nintendo Wii U will be powered by top class processors from IBM. Nintendo Wii U, will use three core processors based on PowerPC architecture CPUs. The graphics card will have 512MB memory, with the GPU(Graphics Processing Unit) from ATI Radeon R700 that supports pixel shader 4.1.

I've already said that Nintendo Wii U strong point is it's new controller. This new controller is the star of Nintendo's presentation at the event E3 2011. The controller itself is equipped with two analog sticks to control the unique precision, a control pad and number buttons. Nintendo Wii U user will be able to play some mini games with a touch screen on the controller, which would also affect the progress of the game and new experience beyond our imagination. This device also include a microphone, small speakers, gyroscope and a camera that can capture players face and can be used in some games. The other feature of this new controller is it's capability to be used to browse the Internet and make phone calls.

Apple iPad - Superb Gadget for Everyone

I'm sure most of you have already heard about Apple iPad. Probably it's way too late to review iPad now, since the second generation iPad2 is already out. But I'll review it anyway cause I think Apple iPad is the most beautiful & amazing gadgets on earth until now.

Apple iPad is positioned in a new category of portable computer devices between laptops and smartphones (called tablets). Most of the features provided is no different than the iPhone but with a wider screen display. However, Apple also include some new features in this device. Apple offers iPad in six variants with a price range from US$499 up to US$829 depends on the size of the memory which is 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB, and choices between WiFi connection or WiFi and 3G GSM.

Apple iPad's strong points from my point of view which are :

1. Design. Apple iPad have a very elegant design. The back is clad in aluminum casing wrapped by a glass front panel (just like the iPhone / iTouch with a larger size.) iPad also very thin but fit perfecly in your arms. For me the designs give perfect score 10/10.
2. Performance. Apple iPad use 1GHz processor made exclusively by Apple. From my experience, it's still slower than iPhone 4 (tried by playing a few same games which iPad frame rate is a little low compared to the iPhone 4 although they both use 1GHZ processor. Perhaps this is because of the RAM. iPad use 256 MB RAM while iPhone 4 use 512 MB. Overall, the performance is very good. Score for performance 8 / 10.
3. Applications. Applications is the power of Apple iPad. There are so many applications in the iPad. (almost all the iphone applications can be run on the iPad). Scores for Application 10/10.

There are also some weak points in Apple iPad :

1. Without Adobe Flash
2. Not equipped camera
3. Can not do multitasking
4. Storage capacity is not big enough
5. The battery is not easily replaced
6. Does not have HDMI port.

Overall Apple iPad is a superb gadget for everyone, from children to adults, from housewives to businessman. Overall score 9/10

Dragon Age Origins, RPG for Adults (Review and Downloads)

Dragon Age : Origins (DAO) is one of the so called "hi-class RPG". The game not only offer entertainment, but also a story that mixed by BioWare in beautiful Ferelden fantasy world, and also this game offers a wonderful memory that dangle over the deepening of interpersonal characteristics. This will determine the direction of the story and make DAO more than just a Fantasy Role Playing Games (RPG).

As offered in other RPGs, the player started his career by building a character that would eventually affect the gameplay. Currently there are three options to build character races : Human, Elf, and the Dwarf, then players have to choose the job of each class.

According to selected race, the game will move into the background of the story line according to the selected character. Later, all the stories merge into one by following a man named Duncan to become a Grey Warden, a group who dedicated his life to fighting the Blight, which is a group of invisible evil that devastated Ferelden world peace.

The core of Dragon Gate: Origins is the battle with the Blight, by recruiting members on every road stories into one group of Grey Warden then solves problems from one region to another. In each scenario of the story, players can find side quests, which make the stories more deep and interesting. Dragon Gate: Origins is not so interesting if you only follow the main quest.

For your information, all of the dialogue you choose will influence the way the story forward. In addition it also affects the other team members feeling. Sometimes in a mission, there is a quest that emerged from the talks. This Quest will automatically open a small plot, which culminate in a large scenario. If you choose to be polite, then the Non Player Character (NPC) will also be polite, on the contrary, if being rude in a conversation can eliminate the opportunity to open a new quest.

Gameplay, Graphics and Sound

For players who have been accustomed to playing games like Diablo, Baldur Gate, Mass Effect, Dugeon Siege or Never Winter Nights would not have difficulty in carrying out the characters. Game system offered here truly flexible and easy to manage. Players just need to adjust what needs to be done by another character (AI) and then immediately focus on other work. One of the advantages of Dragon Gate: Origins is charging a lot of incredible in every NPC. Every new person will speak in a different tone of voice.

The Dialogue You Should Really Look For

The core of Dragon Gate: Origins is conversations. For those who not used to play such an RPG game, must have been thinking 'Why is this game is full of chatting contents?'. This is true. And it is precisely the power of Dragon Age: Origins, compared to other similar genres. If we only after the item and battle, this game will seem boring. But when the dialogue followed carefully, an interesting story will be presented.

Sex In The Story.

Sex is one ingredient that make a game interesting. This also works with the DAO. When choosing the character as a man, that character can be directed to copulate with another female character, and vice versa. Apart from that the game seems to really carry gender equality. Because the funny thing is, there is also the option to 'play' with the same sex.

But, keep in mind, in order to 'play' with friends, strong interpersonal relationships should really be maintained. Until a certain level later when the 'target' truly open minded, then the 'hot scenes' can be executed. Please note that Dragon Gate: Origins is intended for adults. Do not give this game to children under the age of 18 years!

Basically Dragon Age: Origins is the game that is designed for a Fantasy RPG gamers who are used to play these kind of game.

The moral of this game is not only just victorious against evil, like other similar games. Players will be given moral choices through dialogue that built both the NPC and other characters. This opens an alternative hidden in the game that ultimately will affect the storyline.

However, MSI was able to bring RV790 chipset, which was normal in the core clock at 1 GHz with this variant. Meanwhile, the memory size 1 GB GDDR5 used, also running at 1 GHz clock (effective 4 GHz).

To overcome the heat of the chipset, MSI is using the HSF named Cyclone. The HSF consists of a 10 cm fan, heatsink, and 4 pieces of circular heatpipes around the fan. From the 4 pieces of heatpipes used, there are 2 pieces heatpipe with a larger diameter of which called MSI Superpipe.

With 1 GHz core clock, this graphics card performance meet the satisfactory, both in testing using 3DmarkVantage or for heavy games. But the core clock can not be overclocked higher much more and can only be increased to 1050 MHz.

With the price around US$750 in my country, definitely is an all around notebook. With this specification you can edit photo nicely, use it for video editing, and also 3D editing. The performance for playing games is quite good too. Although the graphic card is near the entry level, but the 512 MB dedicated memory is a plus so that you can almost play all moderate game nicely. This laptop can play some high resources game too but will need a little tweaking.

The most interesting thing in the notebook is that it use DDR3 to replace the 5 year old DDR2. With 4GB DDR3 and Windows 7, your job will be much more light. The hard disk capacity is HUGE that can store almost everything.

I recommend this laptop for those who want to buy a new notebook for personal use. This is the best in it's class.

Google Challenge Bing with "Caffeine"

Facing the though competition in the Internet market, Google developed a faster search engine. Therefore, Google invites developers to test the new web search engine and provide feedback to them.

Matt Cutts, Google's chief developer, and Sitram Iyer, Google's software developer staff post a message on Google Blog. They invite the developers to try out their new innovations. In these blogs, they also wrote, "For several months, teams of Googlers have been working on a secret project: A new generation architecture for the Google search engine. The new project is called Caffeine.

A Google spokesman added that Google is always try to create new technologies to improve the quality of its search engine. We hope this system will improve the quality of search in terms of size, speed, accuracy, and completeness.

Google also acknowledged that the project Caffeine is to challenge their rival Microsoft with Bing.

Formerly, AV player in the family room is usually dominated by a DVD player with a single output MPEG formats. Now, DVD player is also equipped with the ability to play AVI movies and MP3 songs. Later, consumers who do not have a Blu-ray, but want to enjoy High Definition quality impressions, also begin to look for player that supports Matroska (MKV).

In addition there are mobile devices that can play video, like iPhone, PSP (PlayStation Portable), and the latest game console PlayStation 3. Players like this only supports MP4 files with a specific profile with predefined resolution, framerate, and birthrate.

Perhaps, only experts who won't be confused with a variety of multimedia formats. Consumers or users who want to convert a movie or song to be played on the player usually depend on special software to convert to the standard format and profile.

Demands on a complete or all-in-one multimedia converter program is very high. They (converter) must support four standard containers commonly used : MPEG, AVI, MP3, and Matroska. Each multimedia files stored in a container that manages video and audio tracks in it. The format of these tracks may vary. Container MPEG for DVD has a relatively simple structure, ie for MPEG2 video and Dolby Audio (AC3) for audio. As for AVI as a classic container for movie on the PC is more flexible. A video track must be in a regular MPEG4 or MPEG4 Part 10 (H.264). Devices such as iPod or PSP can play both, but because H.264 offers better picture quality, this is a prioritized format. Parameters for the mobile player encoder is strict. For MPEG4, encoder must use the Simple Profile, whereas for the H.264, Baseline Profile selected. Both profiles have been revoked several amenities (such as B-frames) in order not to burden the resource.

Original audio tracks only support MP4 AAC or MP3 only. It was only since August 2008, MP4 finally started to support AC3 (Dolby Digital). However, these options only found in PCs. MP3 and the like: the next audio format
If the format of the movie (video) increases, the audio just so simple. In addition to audio CDs which is somewhat old-fashioned enough, MP3 format still dominates. Recent replacement of MP3 format maybe only AAC. Popular iPod player even restrict ourselves to these two formats. This makes all the other formats "neglected". MP3 songs are in the same container is called MPEG AAC in a MP4, M4A usually have the suffix. Today there is HE (High Efficiency) AAC format. This format uses AAC to a more compression technology that is Spectral Brain Replication. In this technology, high frequency don't need to be saved because it would be put together by the decoder during playback. In HE-AAC, 64 kbbps is the normal bitrate, equivalent to 128 kbbps in MP3 and 96 kbbps on AAC. HE-AAC is commonly used on the internet as audio tracks in video flash-efficient place.

This game is very suitable to be played using a media controller. In addition, You can also play together with your friends through multiplayer mode. Paid Access for Youtube and Facebook ?

Internet big players such as Youtube and facebook is rumored to have big financial problem. They need new sources of income to cover the lost. Will us as user have to pay for access ? Not many people think that a company that runs the biggest social network in the world can have financial problem. Several weeks ago, Facebook Financial Director, Gideon Yu, resigned. This website has over 200 million users and developing rapidly. But their income don't grow as much as it looks like. Their income from advertising can't cover the expenses, so Facebook will need new fresh income.

This financial problem is faced not only by Facebook, but also by almost every big company that offers web 2.0 technology. According to an estimation by Credit Suisse, Youtube this year will have a lost almost 471 million US dollar. The traffic cost is almost 1 million dollar a day. The same condition also happens at Twitter and Skype. To the investors, internet is not as interesting anymore as when web 2.0 era begins. With this problem going through, the future we can expect is : Free for basic feature only. Slowly but sure, free services will disappear. Youtube will develop a new system that require payment for users. Facebook will also develop this method. There will be paid account. The basic feature will be free but if you want convinience, you will have to pay. Let's hope there will be another way out for this problem.
